Oxonian Summer Ride and BBQ
With Oxonian’s summer ride and BBQ just around the corner we hope you are making the most of this weather and getting some training rides in! As promised, there will be three route options on the day.
With an epic 100 mile, a moderate 70 mile or more civilised 35 mile route to choose from, there is an option for everyone.
All the rides will meet in at the Oxfordshire Yeoman at staggered times on the morning of Saturday 7th July so that we all arrive back for drinks and BBQ at the Oxfordshire Yeoman between 3pm and 4pm.
Each ride will have a nominated ride leader to guide the way and to make sure we get to the scheduled stops in a timely manner.
The 100 mile option will include two refreshment stops and will be led by Paul Warren and Tracy Makin. Pace on the day will be to suit the group – there may well be a speedier group depending on numbers. Please do ensure that you feel comfortable and confident completing this distance.
If you would like to join the 100 mile option, please be ready to set off from the Oxfordshire Yeoman at 7am.
The 70 mile option will be led by Steve Smith and will include at least one refreshment stop, possibly two if you ask Steve nicely/ offer to buy him a bacon sandwich… Again, please ensure that you feel comfortable and confident completing this distance. Pace on the day will be set to suit the group.
If you would like to join the 70 mile option, please be ready to set off from the Oxfordshire Yeoman at 9:15am.
The 35 mile option will set off from the Oxfordshire Yeoman at 11:00am and the ride leader will be announced shortly. Watch this space! This ride will be suitable for those new to group riding. If you are new to group riding, please do let us know when you book your place using the link below.
Please make sure you bring plentiful drinks and snacks on the day, as well as a few inner tubes just in case!
The BBQ will be available from 3pm and will be £10 per head, please bring cash on the day. All drinks can then be purchased at the bar. Please click on the link below to book your place and let us know any dietary requirements. We will need to let the pub know final numbers on Monday 2nd July.
