This is a brief update on London West District Council events and activities. We would very much appreciate if you could share these amongst your committee and club members
Following last month’s successful events we have four weekends of racing for CTT Affiliated riders to take part in.
*Closing today* we have a double header on the 6th of June on the A420 near Kingston Bagpuize, Oxford. For the long distance riders and those who like an early start, Oxonian CC are hosting a 50 mile race out towards the outskirts of Shrivenham and back. In the afternoon Newbury Road Club are catering for those who prefer a lie in and a more intense, 10 mile, racing experience.
On the 13th of June, Farnham Road Club have a day of solo, tandem and team time trial (teams of two or four) racing near Bentley on a 25 mile course which will provide some interesting racing.
On the 19th and 20th, Alton CC and Didcot Phoenix CC are promoting 10 and 25 mile timetrials, respectively. The Alton event uses the roads at Bently while Didcot’s event takes in the A420 event and incorporates a full road bike competition. Oxonian top off the month with a 25 mile event on the 27th of June.
There’s an extra bonus wild card event for people available on Thursday afternoons. The VTTA are promoting an race not on the A420 or the A31 on the quiet roads around Princes Risborough on the 17th of June. The event is preference for Veteran Time Trial Association members, but non-VTTA members and those under the age of 40 are welcome to enter with a high chance of receiving a place.
